Description
Overview
The Aperture 42 is a compact recessed spotlight built for environments where glare control and colour fidelity are primary criteria — retail display, hospitality interiors, gallery and museum lighting, and high-end residential settings. Its defining characteristic is a small exit aperture combined with a deep reflector cup that achieves a Unified Glare Rating below 3, making it effectively invisible to a viewer's peripheral field of view.
Optical and Mechanical Construction
The housing is a single-piece die-cast aluminium body, which improves heat path uniformity compared to multi-part assemblies. The reflector cup carries either a high-density SMD array or a full-spectrum COB chip, both matched to the same optical geometry. Four interchangeable beam angles — 15°, 24°, 36°, and 50° — cover tasks from accent to ambient wash. The ±25° tilt range allows precise aiming after ceiling installation without re-cutting the aperture.
Driver
The integrated isolated driver accepts 85–265 V AC, making it suitable for international projects or installations with variable supply quality. Power factor is rated at 0.6.
Typical Applications
Retail jewellery and fashion display, art gallery accent lighting, hospitality feature walls, residential cove and niche lighting where aperture visibility must be minimised.
